A 20+ year journey from software engineering foundations to dual C-suite leadership — through a founding detour, progressive mastery, and ultimately shaping the connected mobility infrastructure of India.
The foundation of everything. At Sopra Steria — one of Europe's largest IT service companies — Rishin built the engineering instincts that would anchor every product and architecture decision for the next two decades. Software engineering here was not just a job; it was a worldview: systems thinking, precise execution, and the discipline of building things that work at scale. He graduated from MDU, Rohtak (Maharshi Dayanand University) with a B.E. and transitioned immediately into professional engineering, developing core competencies in software development methodologies, systems architecture, and technology problem-solving.
Before mobility startups were fashionable in India, Rishin built one. At Megacarpool, he wore every hat — CEO driving business strategy and P&L, and owning the technology and day-to-day execution. This experience is the single most distinctive element of his career: it is the reason he approaches large-organisation challenges with a founder's urgency, market-first thinking, and a deep intolerance of bloat. Building from zero — finding customers, building product, managing cash, recruiting talent — gave him a reference point for what real ownership looks like that no corporate career could provide.
The beginning of a long and defining chapter. Joining MapmyIndia — India's geospatial pioneer — as Product Development Head for Location-Based Services, Rishin moved from general software and mobility into the world of maps, navigation, and spatial intelligence. This role gave him deep exposure to how digital maps are built and productised, how LBS platforms serve millions of users, and how geospatial intelligence translates into real business value across consumer and enterprise segments. The MapmyIndia culture — meticulous about data, obsessive about accuracy, and grounded in the reality of India's geography — shaped his standards permanently.
A pivotal expansion of scope: from maps into the connectivity layer. As Associate VP, Rishin led new product introduction and business development across MapmyIndia's telecom and telematics verticals — M2M communications, vehicle tracking hardware, and the first generation of connected vehicle solutions in India. This role built his understanding of the hardware-software interface that defines IoT products, and gave him a commercial lens on how B2B telematics businesses are grown and scaled. He developed expertise in the full telematics value chain: device, connectivity, platform, and analytics.
At VP level, Rishin's mandate expanded to span both product and technology leadership — a relatively rare dual remit that presaged his future CPO/CTO combination. He was now owning the full product portfolio across multiple business units, setting technology direction, and managing cross-functional teams at significant scale. This is where his reputation for remaining calm under pressure in high-stakes situations — cited by multiple peers in their LinkedIn recommendations — was forged through repeated delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
As SVP, Rishin became one of MapmyIndia's most senior product leaders — responsible for driving the company's innovation agenda across its full product ecosystem. This included building out the connected vehicle product line, expanding telematics offerings, and positioning MapmyIndia for the automotive IoT wave that was beginning to reshape India's automobile industry. He received the "Pat on the Back" recognition award during this period — acknowledgement from the organisation of exceptional contribution and leadership. He also began building his external presence as a speaker and panellist at national technology conferences.
Led the product team at MapmyIndia to build the MOVE super-app — which ranked first nationally in the MeitY & Atal Innovation Mission challenge. The initiative recognised India's best homegrown apps with potential to scale to world-class platforms. Covered by BW Businessworld.

As CPO for Auto Tech & IoT, Rishin owns the product strategy for India's most important geospatial and connected vehicle platform. His mandate spans the full spectrum of automotive technology products: connected vehicle infrastructure, automotive IoT solutions, location-based services, and the SaaS/PaaS/MaaS platforms that put MapmyIndia at the centre of India's mobility intelligence ecosystem. He sits on MapmyIndia's IT department leadership and is one of the company's most prominent external voices — speaking at Convergence India, Bharat Tech Summit 2026, and other national forums.
Simultaneously with his CPO role at MapmyIndia, Rishin serves as CTO at Gtropy Systems — the GPS fleet management subsidiary that MapmyIndia acquired and now holds 96% stake in. This concurrent CTO role is not a distraction but a strategic extension: it places Rishin at the technology helm of the execution layer that sits on top of MapmyIndia's geospatial intelligence layer. Together, the two roles make him the architect of India's full connected mobility stack. At Gtropy — with 600,000+ live vehicles, 350+ partner network, and INR 100–500Cr revenue — his CTO mandate is to own the complete technology architecture, lead engineering teams, and drive the deep integration between Gtropy's fleet platform and MapmyIndia's mapping intelligence.
